OK — have been messing about with this thing for about four months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, mainly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

How I found it was actually a bit daft — I could never figure out what an ew return actually was when the place terms changed. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. Now I stick my stake in before I place anything, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you drop in stake and odds and you get profit and total return straight away, either odds format. There’s also the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, and that’s where I always got it wrong. The thing that genuinely shifted things for me was the nerdier extras. They’ve got an odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious the overround, and a kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutching one is handy too for when I’m splitting a race.

It’s not perfect mind. The design feels very functional, let’s say — not much frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it works but the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no proper app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.

Anyway. Free, barely any ads, works. If anyone even now adds it up in their head, give it a go — saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.

I learned more from this short post than from longer articles I read earlier today, and a stop at xelarionet added even more useful detail without going off topic, this site clearly knows how to keep things focused without sacrificing depth which is a hard balance to strike for any writer.
